Watch this space for registration details.Trainers, helpers, and maintainers from across NZ engage with the Carpentries community in different ways and there is seldom a chance to learn from each other’s successes and challenges – which is why we host a day dedicated to networking and connection-building. But what is The Carpentries?

The Carpentries is a community-centric organisation committed to teaching foundational coding, and data science skills to researchers worldwide. In New Zealand, the Carpentries community is growing as more institutions and universities run Software Carpentry, Data Carpentry, and Library Carpentry workshops and have staff attend instructor training. Most importantly, all members of the Carpentries community including workshop hosts, instructors, and learners follow this code of conduct because creating a safe space for learners is key to growing a healthy, supportive community.

What is this event for?

This event is specifically for people who have encountered the Carpentries in some way (perhaps as a learner, helper, instructor, or ally) and want to strengthen their ties to the community.

At the end of this get-together, we hope you have new connections, renewed inspiration for running Carpentries workshops in 2022, and feel supported as a valued member of the Carpentries community.
